J Sherwood White,CFP is a Certified Financial Planner who lives in St Petersburg FL and has served on the QLA Board since 1990, President 1993-95.  Had the BCIR conversion in Sept 1988 after having a Brooke ileostomy since Jan 1959.

Sherwood was in his Sr year at Louisiana Tech on a Track and Football Scholarship when he had ulcerative colitis, thus requiring the removal of the large intestine. After recovering from the surgery in 1959 he returned to La Tech and obtained a BS in Chemical Engineering, Aug 1960. After working in the Engineering field for 10 years he made a career change and has now been in the Insurance, Investment and Financial Planning Field for over 30 yrs in St Petersburg.

He is married (Virginia; in Aug 2005 will be 47 yrs) and has two children (Joe and Amye) and 4 Grandchildren that he enjoys very much. Sherwood says, " I have always been active in sports (golf, tennis & softball), church & community (St Pete Rotary Club for 26 years).  The decision to convert to the BCIR was a natural progression as we Americans are always looking for ways to improve our quality of life and those around us.   The BCIR has certainly played a major roll in helping provide a better quality of life for me and my Family." Sherwood's hobbies are flower gardening, music and (yes), Elvis.
